We understand that life gets busy and sometimes we forget to take care of our health. There’s no reason to feel ashamed or guilty of your oral health as long as you take action. At Laurich Dentistry, our team is caring and non-judgemental. We’ll make you feel right at home for your first dental appointment back. Here are a few things to expect if you haven’t been to the dentist in years.
During your first appointment back with us, we will focus on three prominent dental issues: gum disease, cavities, wear and tear. We’ll take a full mouth of x-rays then start your hygiene appointment. Lastly, one of our doctors will finish your appointment with a comprehensive exam.
Full Mouth X-rays with Laurich Dentistry
Every three to five years, we will take a set of full mouth x-rays. This may include a panoramic x-ray, bitewings, or x-rays of the anatomy of every tooth. The type of x-rays you’ll get depends on your needs and treatment.
Hygiene Appointment with Laurich Dentistry
During your hygiene appointment, we’ll start off reviewing your medical history, any concerns or questions you may have, and a general evaluation. After we determine the level of cleaning needed, we’ll start your dental cleaning.
Comprehensive Exam with Laurich Dentistry
Once your cleaning is finished, we’ll have one of our doctors start your comprehensive dental exam. Your comprehensive exam with Dr. Matt Laurich and Dr. Dennis Laurich is an overall review of your visit. They’ll go over your dental x-rays, medical history, and confirm any periodontal diagnosis such as decay, fillings, and potential problems.
At the end of your appointment, one of our team members at Laurich Dentistry will review the recommended treatments, payment options, insurance coverage, and schedule you for your next appointment. Your first appointment back at the dentist is a step in the right direction. We’re committed to making the process as easy and comfortable as possible. If you haven’t been to the dentist in years, contact us at Laurich Dentistry and we’ll take care of you.
